Ryden | Planning

Ryden’s Planning team has secured a S42 planning permission from Angus Council for the redevelopment of Strathmartine Hospital on the northern edge of Dundee.

This follows a long and complicated past planning history for the redevelopment of the site, finally resulting in a permission after many months of detailed dialogue between the developer, Chamberlain Bell, and the planning authority.

It will see the derelict hospital site transformed with Listed Buildings converted into townhouses, a range of new build private houses as well as on-site affordable housing for a total of 224 units.

The permission follows a previous consent granted after a call in appeal by Scottish Ministers and was unanimously approved at a full Angus Council meeting. Chamberlain Bell is also the developer behind the redevelopment of the Little Cairnie Hospital in Arbroath.
