Ryden | Planning

Ryden has submitted a major masterplan planning application for the redevelopment of the former Bangour Hospital site at Dechmont in West Lothian.

This includes a comprehensive package of technical and environmental information including the masterplan prepared by Ark Architects landscape proposals by Harrison Stevens and technical assessments by Fairhurst on behalf of lead developer the Ambassador Group.

The proposal is for comprehensive redevelopment including conversion of listed buildings, re-use of the church, provision of a new primary school, local shop and community facilities, a district-wide energy centre and a total of up to 1,000 new homes.

This has involved public consultation and extensive dialogue with key officers at West Lothian Council and Historic Environment Scotland and agreement in principle on the contributions required for education and affordable homes.
